NEL Foundation is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that was founded because every individual should have access to proper shelter as well as other forms of basic amenities. NEL stands for Nathaniel E. Lawrence. Nathaniel was my father, and he was passionate about seeing to the shelter needs of the homeless.

In this regard, the NEL Foundation was designed to equip adults and youths with housing and basic living skills. With the skills learned from NEL, families, and individuals would understand how to maintain an apartment and have the necessary amenities to allow them to live seamlessly. At NEL, we utilize government agencies, public libraries, real estate agencies to make provision for homeless people in NYC.
THERE IS A NEED !
There is currently a high demand for housing in NYC; this has resultantly kept some individuals on the streets. NEL looks to change this phenomenon by familiarizing individuals with some basic need-to-know social skills that will allow them to fit into their neighborhood and the community quite seamlessly. Resultantly, this will drastically reduce rental arrears of individuals who are yet to update their rents.
In addition to curbing homelessness, NEL will be offering scholarships to children who aspire to go to college. The NEL scholarship platform will allow individuals to be appropriately placed in society, thus giving them a better chance of having a good future.

Here at NEL Foundation, we are saddled with two responsibilities – Stand with people who are the risk of homelessness and offer life skills classes.
